A registered or a licensed Counselling Psychologist in India is called a Rehabilitation Counsellor who complete the Advance Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling Program from various RCI licensed institutes in India.

Counseling Psychologists in India are not required by law to be licensed or registered by RCI. But a License (called an RCI registration) is mandatory if you wish to set up a private practice in India. A licensed program also offered many opportunities in both government and private sectors.
