  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology


The first step is to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (BA/BSc). This foundational program previously spanned three years and now spans four years under the New Education Policy (NEP). It covers various aspects of psychology, including developmental, social, cognitive, and abnormal psychology.


Eligibility:


Completion of 10+2 in any stream (Science, Arts, or Commerce) with a minimum aggregate percentage as specified by the university.

This program deepens your knowledge and introduces you to clinical practices and therapeutic techniques. In the NEP, the span for the course is 1 year. Kindly note for pursuing M.Psy. (new name of MPhil) as per the NEP, a Master's degree is optional since Bachelors already is of 4 years.


Eligibility:


A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minimum required percentage, usually around 50-55%.

Kindly Note, you can also pursue PGDCP, and Psy.D. to become an Associate Clinical Psychologist and a Clinical Psychologist respectively.

Eligibility:


A Master’s degree in Psychology with a minimum required percentage (often 55% or above).

A Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minimum required percentage

Clearing Entrance Exams conducted by respective institutions.

While an M.Phil is sufficient to practice, pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or Psy.D can enhance your expertise and open up opportunities for academic and high-level research positions.
